how to build a ceo mindset

Probably the last question you are asking yourself is: How to build a CEO mindset.

It may even be that you are not sure what I’m talking about.

One of the things I enjoy the most is that I have the opportunity to have conversations with entrepreneurs from all over the world.

The truth is that I learn a lot from these conversations.

Moreover, these conversations give me clarity about the challenges that business owners face every day and need to overcome.

I could see a recurring question that always stood out and kept coming back.

The question had to do with how to make better decisions in their business..

I have to be honest; when I started getting these questions, I wasn’t sure how to react to them.

At first glance, it seemed almost a philosophical question

You see, from my point of view, I specialize in online marketing, and how to make better business decisions sounds like a much bigger issue.

However, the questions kept coming.

So I started to talk more about the marketing decisions that people make every day, the problems that occur when they don’t make decisions, and even worse, the issues that arise when they make the wrong decisions.

After doing this for a few months, I could see that behind this question about how to make better decisions lies another problem.

Of course, much more significant.

How to build a CEO mindset in 3 steps simple steps (and get out of your own way)

As this is a topic of such interest, a few days ago, I decided to share with entrepreneurs who are part of my community, the lessons that I have learned. Experiences that have helped me change my way of thinking and have had a significant impact on the way I make decisions.

1. Start asking the right questions

I have been able to observe that when we do not know how to take the next step, and you do not know which direction to take, it’s because you are not asking yourself the right questions.

For example
Instead of asking the question: What is the probability that this works?

That is probably a tough question to answer.

Why not ask a question like the following:

  • Is this going to help me take a step in the right direction?
  • Will I learn anything by trying this?
  • Will it bring me a bit closer to my goal?

Practicing asking questions is the best exercise you can do in your business, not only because it will help you make better decisions, but also because it allows you to learn to see things from a new perspective every time.

2. Learn to trust yourself

If you are reading this, it is because you have a dream. The dream of growing your business or the goal of starting your own business. Neither of these two dreams will be possible if you have no confidence in yourself.

Think about it, for a business to be successful, it is necessary to make more good decisions than bad ones.

If this is true, for your business to be successful, you need to learn to make those decisions.

If you want to learn to make better decisions, your business does not need your husband or wife to make the decisions for you; your business needs you.

Every time you make a decision, you will learn and gain experience.

That is the only way to develop confidence in yourself.

Before continuing, I created an infographic that illustrates: How to build a CEO mindset (in 3 steps simple steps).

how to build a ceo mindset

3. Understand the cost of getting stuck

Usually, people do not realize that not making decisions is also a decision.

When you postpone the decision to promote your business online for a few months or years, in your mind it seems nothing serious, you tell yourself the story that is not as bad as you know it is.

The problem is that it’s very serious and you are putting your business at risk.

Because every day you lose customers, you lose sales; you lose the opportunity to learn about how to promote your business online.

Every day, your competition gets more clients.

Worst of all, your fear to take the next step becomes bigger with every day that passes.

Meanwhile, your competition is learning and takes the lead.

This type of advantage is not something that you can catch up once you decide that it is time to jump into the water.

Giving your competitors this type of advantage can easily erase from the map.

Conclusion
All decisions have a risk and uncertainty component. Nowadays, if you want your business to succeed you need to learn how to build a CEO mindset. Learning to change your mentality from employee to CEO is what will allow you to make better decisions. Everything you are looking for is on the other side of fear. This becomes evident when you ask the right questions, when you learn to trust yourself and when you understand that the most important thing is always to keep moving. So are you willing to give the key of your dreams to your excuses? o Are you ready to become the CEO of your business?

How to find your business voiceAs a business, every day, you get the opportunity to communicate your message and it’s no secret how important it is to articulate the right message so the people that we are talking to pay attention to what we have to say. This is why it is so important that you learn how to find your business voice.

A few days ago I got a message from someone telling me that I didn’t talk enough about online marketing strategies.

That person is probably right.

The decision to talk less about strategy was intentional

You see, I started to notice that Strategy isn’t the biggest problem that stops the majority of business owners from being successful.

It wouldn’t surprise me that you disagree with me when you read this:

You might be thinking, if the problem is not the strategy, then what is the problem?

A few days ago I was talking with a friend that was telling me that she had decided to hire someone to help her with her marketing.

She was describing how the process of delegating her marketing had caused her to lose her voice.

Now, all her content, from her website, social media posts, and emails don’t sound like her.

I could sense the pain in her voice.

If she felt this, it’s very likely that everyone that has been in touch with her business feels the same thing.

In her case, it doesn’t matter what strategies she uses.

It doesn’t matter how many social media followers she has, it doesn’t matter how much she spends on ads.

If the people that she is attracting don´t connect with her content, her marketing efforts won’t take her anywhere.

She explained the logical reasoning that led her to hire her marketing and delegate her voice.

It was as simple as not having enough time to do it all.

And I think we can all relate to that.

We all have the same 24 hours in a day.

And the key is to choose wisely where to spend our time and attention.

Your business voice is what is going to help you to sell more.

The only reason why someone will hire your services is that they want to work with you.

Because your voice is what attracted them in the first place.

Because you inspired more trust than your competitors.

Your voice is your secret sauce.

And when you don’t have a voice, you have nothing.

If you don’t promote your services through the Internet, you may not fully understand what I mean by this.

You might have to live it to believe it.

But if you have tried to promote your services online, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

If I had to pick a reason why the majority of businesses’ marketing fails, this would be the main one.

It’s not the lack of strategies, it’s the lack of voice.

It’s not knowing how to properly articulate your message.

It’s having a boring message that lacks personality, doesn’t connect with anyone and is similar to everyone else’s.

This is what keeps you invisible and stuck

When you have a message like that, your marketing can’t make miracles.

And that’s the reason why I write about online marketing strategies less frequently.

What happens is that the majority of business owners don’t wrap their heads around the fact that the only purpose of marketing is to position your brand so that you can increase your sales.

Promoting your brand simply because everyone tells you that you´re supposed to do it is not the answer.

When you don’t understand this, the idea of delegating your marketing because you don´t have enough time is the beginning of the end.

4 Steps to learn how to find your business voice (and stand out from the crowd)

1. Focus on your audience first.

One of the main reasons why businesses fail to communicate their voice is because they’re afraid of what other people might think about them.

To stand out, you have to run the risk of being different.

I understand how this can be a challenge.

Nevertheless, what people don’t seem to understand is that there is a bigger risk being just like everyone else.

What you need to do
Change your perspective and move your attention from yourself to your audience. What this means is that instead of worrying about what people will say about you, you have to create content that brings value to your audience.

In the blink of an eye, everything will become easier when you are able to focus on serving your audience.

2. Know what to say

When I talk about what to say, I don’t mean the text you will put with an image on social media.

That’s not enough.

It goes beyond social media.

You need to learn to express your message with the right words so people can understand how you can help them and what makes you different.

You might think this is as simple as delivering a short, concise and to the point message.

In this case, I couldn’t disagree more.

Having a short message is not enough to persuade anyone to hire your services, you need to explain why they need your services and why you are their best choice.

What you need to do:
It all starts by knowing your audience, understanding their problems and showing them that you know how to solve their problems. You can do this with your blog, with videos and/or audio and social media.

Your content will allow your audience to get to know you and will help them realize that they want to work with you.

In order to do this:

• You don’t have to be a genius to know what to say.
• You don’t have to be the best or have all the answers to have an opinion.
• You don’t have to be an extrovert.

It only takes practice and using a system that allows you to do exactly that.

3. Use images to connect

It doesn’t matter how good your message is if nobody sees it.

The best way to capture the attention of your audience is to combine your message with images that connect and make them curious about your services.

This is not something you can achieve if you use the same images as your competitors.

What you need to do
You need to develop a visual brand style that makes you stand out and that allows your audience to identify you.

I understand that this sounds like something expensive or complicated and I want to clarify that it’s not.

Again, this is something that you can achieve through practice.

Before continuing, I want to share an infographic that illustrates:  4 Steps to learn how to find your business voice (and stand out from the crowd)

How to find your business voice

4. Your message must be highly visible

Of course, none of this works if your audience doesn’t know you exist.

It doesn’t matter what your message is or what image you use if your message is not easy to find for your audience 24 hours a day.

What you need to do
You need to understand where the people in your audience search for the solutions to their problems.

And most likely, they search Google and social media.

This means that your content should appear in the results when people search, otherwise you’re just wasting your time.

Conclusion
It doesn’t matter what strategies or tactics you use, it doesn’t matter how much you pay for ads and it doesn’t matter how many followers you have.

Not understanding the importance of communicating your voice through a highly visible message is like trying to drive a car without an engine.

I want you to ask yourself: What step can you take today to find the voice of your business and successfully communicate a message that connects with your audience?

Why free online marketing courses don’t work

Why free online marketing courses don’t work If you’re thinking of learning online marketing, you need to know why free online marketing courses don’t work.

A few years ago, I was feeling burnt out. I thought that maybe learning something new would help me feel better.

Back then, I dedicated all of my time to design websites for clients and I also offered online marketing services.

I wanted to learn something new that wasn’t related to my work.

I’ve gone through these phases in the past and I know how important it is not to go against my intuition.

I had a new camera and I decided it would be fun to learn how to use it.

Of course, the first thing I thought of was finding free information available on the Internet.

After a few days of research, I realized the following:

1. There wasn’t any specific information about the camera I had, which was a huge problem for me

The question kept going through my mind “How am I going to take good pictures if I don’t know how to use the camera?”

2. I also realized that these are two very different things

a) Learning how to use the camera

b) Learning how to take good pictures

3. Even if I found all the instructions on a tutorial, I would still be missing the most important thing

Someone to tell me if I’m doing a good job and more importantly, to tell me what I’m doing wrong and how to improve it.

These three things made me realize I needed to pay for a course.

I had a lot of time-based limitations since I worked during the day and tended to my family by night.

I basically had no time.

Regardless, my desire for experiencing something new was bigger than the “not enough time” excuse, and that’s how I began my search for a photography course.

After some research, I decided that it would be too difficult to attend a class in person because I would lose many hours commuting back and forth from the class and this would have an unnecessary impact on my life.

I realized it was the perfect opportunity to find an online course.

When I told this to my friends and family, they were sceptical.

After all, how would I learn to use my camera if I didn’t have someone next to me telling me how to use it?

Still, I was determined and confident that it wouldn’t be an issue.

The hardest step was deciding which course to take.

In other words, who did I want to learn from?

Once I made that decision I simply couldn’t contain my excitement.

This would become my first experience as an online course student.

The experience exceeded my expectations. I learned a lot and I also had the flexibility to study by night and go out on the weekends to take pictures.

Probably the most important part of it all was that as a student I experienced firsthand how important it is to have these kinds of alternatives.

Not only because they enrich our lives and helps us solve a specific problem.

But also because they give us the possibility of learning from people that if we were to hire for private coaching, the cost would be completely out of our range.

The person I chose is a world-renowned photographer who teaches photography all around the world.

At the moment I signed up for the course, I didn’t have enough time to even take it in the city I live in, and even less so if I had had to travel.

Why am I sharing this?

Because despite the fact that at the time it seemed that the experience had nothing to do with my work, it actually did.

And because investing in that experience changed my life.

Why free online marketing courses don’t work (4 lessons that can change your life)

1. It was an experiment where I put myself in the place of those who want to learn online.

This experience allowed me to validate that in fact, it is possible to teach and learn using online courses.

This was a very important lesson for me to learn since I wanted to experience this for myself.

2. Isolating knowledge is impossible.

After I finished the class, I took several others. These photography courses helped me change my way of thinking, or rather, my way of looking at things.

But perhaps more importantly, these courses sparked my curiosity for the visual side of communication, which nowadays is so important in the work I do every day.

You see, I had some many photos I wasn’t using that I decided to start using them on my blog posts. This was the beginning of a new chapter in my business.

3. Free information online only offers more information

You can’t learn anything by simply consuming information.

If you want to learn something new, doing more research isn’t enough. What matters is the change that occurs when you go from point A (where you are before learning) to point B (where you are once you apply what you’ve learned). We call this the transformation.

At that time, I could have convinced myself that I could learn everything on my own.

But that wasn’t what I was looking for. I wanted to learn from someone who would give me feedback, who would tell me if I was doing a good job, what I wasn’t doing right and that would guide me into improving.

Being able to ask questions and obtain answers was essential to me.

Before continuing, I want to share an infographic that illustrates:  Why free online marketing courses don’t work (4 lessons that can change your life)

Why free online marketing courses don’t work

4. The transformation lies in the transaction

The level of commitment we have is different when we spend money on a course than if we don’t.

I understand that this can be a hard to swallow pill for some.

I understand because that used to be me.

Everything changed for me when I paid for a course and experienced it myself.

I needed to be sure I was making the most out of the experience.

And that is so important that it can mean the difference between success and failure.

Perhaps one of the biggest surprises was what I learned from the people who took the class with me. Turns out, we can’t measure the value or the impact of being surrounded by people who share the same interests that we do.

Conclusion

If you really want to learn something new and you want to do it right, you need to invest in the learning process.

Because in doing so, you’re making a commitment to yourself.

Otherwise, you’re wasting your time.

Thinking you can learn all on your own closes you off to certain learning opportunities. Without realizing it, you take on an ignorant attitude which won’t let you learn anything and will keep you stagnant.

This experience changed me and reminded me that it’s important to invest in things that help my business.

I’d like to encourage you to be open to new learning experiences that allow you to reach your goals. Experiences that will help you go from point A to point B, where your goals and dreams await you.

Because in life, you can’t replace experience with knowledge.

Does social media strategy really work?

Does social media strategy really work?If you are like most people, you’ve probably wondered more than once if social media really works?

Everybody is talking about how you need to be on social media, but you have tried everything and still have not seen results. Clearly you have doubts if this could really work for your business.

A few days ago, I had the opportunity to attend a presentation about the big problem that businesses have with their social media strategy.

The speaker compared the resources, effort and investments that business make when promoting themselves in radio and TV, in contrast to social media.

The speaker explained how businesses set aside a larger budget for marketing in radio and TV and much less for their social media strategies.

The presenter concluded that is precisely the problem, in other words, businesses do not recognize the importance of social media and do not set aside a proper budget for it.

I would like to take the opportunity to talk a little more about this topic and go deeper, because it does apply to both small and medium sized companies.

In my opinion that is not the problem, because it doesn’t matter who you hire or how much you pay someone to manage your social media strategy if you as a leader or project manager do not understand what this person needs to do, or how to measure their results.

It is pointless, if you do not understand the strategy and don’t have a clear vision of what you need to do to achieve success.

In other words, it won’t matter how much you invest in your social media strategy, or who you hire if you are not be able to tell if they are doing a good job or not.

If you don’t understand how to solve the problem then it won’t matter how much money you invest in solving the problem, I’m sure that you might be telling yourself: “I disagree. If I hired someone to do the job why should I be involved? The reason why I’m hiring them is because I don’t even have time and I don’t want to be involved.”

And that is exactly the problem.

I want to show you some examples of how, without realizing it, you might have made the mistake of trying to solve the problem by hiring someone without taking the time to understand the problem or look for a solution.

Does social media strategy really work? Avoid this critical mistake that will drive you to failure

1. You might have hired a website designer

You might have thought that after having a website you would have people lining up ready to pay for your services. But not understanding how the Internet works is what set’s you up with unrealistic expectations.

2. You might have hired someone to create content for your blog posts.

You probably heard that having a blog can help increase sales.

Writing has never been one of your strengths, besides you also have a business to run.

And that’s precisely why you decided to hire someone who has experiences but after 6 months you still haven’t seen results.

3. You might have hired someone to manage your social media strategy or maybe to create content for social media.

If you are like most entrepreneurs, there are not enough hours in a day.

Maybe you decided to hire someone to create content, to manage your social media strategy because you thought you didn’t have enough time to do it yourself, because in the end planning and creating content would take too much of your time.

Before continuing, I want to share an infographic that illustrates: Does social media strategy really work? Avoid this critical mistake that will drive you to failure:

Does social media strategy really work?

The business or person created content but still, you don’t see any results.

4. You might have hired someone to create a promotional video

Everyone talks about the importance of doing videos for your businesses, and you thought you might give it a try and make a video to see if it really produces the results people talk of.

The video now lives on your website and you also post them on your social media, however, it doesn’t have any views and you haven’t received a call yet.

The reality is you are wasting your time when you’re doing all these things if you don’t have a strategy or if you don’t know who your audience is.

But you probably already know that.

The only way that these will work, is when you have total clarity over what you are doing and why you are doing it.

This is also the reason why when you copy your competitor’s content you are wasting your time.

The reason why they are getting results it’s because they have clarity and this cannot be copied or mimicked.

Regardless of how much money you invest in solving the problem, the results won’t change unless you understand the strategy and know exactly what to expect in each step of the process.

Why am I not making sales online?

Why am I not making sales online

In the last few weeks I have noticed a word that you most likely using and without realizing it’s blocking your way to success.

Usually the word is hidden in a sentence like the following:

“I have seen how my friend is using the internet to make more sales, so I also want to try to see it’s going to work for me, so I’m just going to try and see what happens”

The word that kills your efforts is to TRY.

There are many issues with that sentence.

And to illustrate, I’d like to use an example.

I have very special memories of when I learned how to ride a bike and I also remember when my kids learned.

Learning to ride a bike is one of those magical things.

I’m sure fear varies depending on the age you learn to ride the bike.

But what is really incredible about learning to ride a bike is that we only learn how to do it once.

And once you acquire the skill it becomes something you do even without thinking about it.

However, it can be challenging when you don’t know how to do it.

Personally, I don’t know anyone who has tried to learn to ride a bike and then said, this is not for me, this is way too difficult or the bike goes too fast.

Because once you learn you can make adjustments and go as fast as you want and choose where you want to go.

Imagine if you will approach everything in life in the same way, with the certainty that regardless of the initial hardships or struggle, everything will work.

Online marketing is like learning to ride a bike, it’s a skill you learn that you can later use the rest of your life.

Let me show you what are some problems you think that online marketing is something you can just try once.

Why am I not making sales online (2 mistakes that are driving you to failure)

Mistake # 1: Everything in life has a cost

The first and possibly the most important problem is that everything in life has a cost, even when it’s not obvious and you do not see it.

What this means is that thinking that you don’t have anything to lose is not real.

I want you to consider some of the following costs:

  • The cost of wasting time that you can never get back.
  • The cost of stepping away from your goal because you are moving in the wrong direction.
  • The cost of losing hope that online marketing is something you can do.
  • The cost of not learning from mistakes.

And the worst cost of all is the cost of not solving the problem, which in this case is to sell more and attract more clients to your business.

Mistake # 2: Trying online marketing to see if it works.

The second problem is thinking that you can try online marketing to see if it works is the biggest trap.

There are certain decisions and things that we do in life, which we can’t simply try.

In our story, the person who is getting results and making more sales using the Internet, this person is not trying.

She is convinced that she needs to use the internet as a tool to grow her business, in the same way she would use a bike to go places.

Before continuing I have created an infographic that illustrates: Why am I not making sales online (2 mistakes that are driving you to failure).

Why am I not making sales online

In other words, to try is to fail.

When you use the word “try”, without realizing it, you are allowing your mind to have 2 options, success and failure and that is precisely what makes you lose the game.

When you decide to ride a bike, you do not do it to try, you do it with the intention that you will learn to ride it.

When you decide to get married, it’s not something that you do to see how it will go.

The same thing happens when you decide what to study in college.

We only get married or choose our college career when we are completely convinced that it is the right decision.

In conclusion:

Remember that to try is to fail, because you are letting doubt guide your decisions.

And the same applies to online marketing..

You need to have the conviction that it will work and you have to be 100% committed to yourself that you are going to do whatever it takes to make it work.

When you’re just trying something to see if it works, you are not going all in, you are not fully committed, you don’t have a plan of action, you usually improvise and just depend on common sense.

But I want you to realize that if it were only common sense what was needed, everyone would be successful and we know that it is not the case.

Eliminating the word “try” will allow you to conquer the doubt so you can always win.

How to get over the fear of promoting your services online

Every week I have the opportunity to talk with colleagues or clients and get to chat about the problems they face and we look for solutions to solve them.

Often fear is hidden behind each problem

Fear is a huge challenge when it comes to creating content to promote your services online and that is why I have developed a system that helps you get clear on your message, because once you are clear the fear goes away.

This is definitely one of the most valuable things that I teach my clients and my students

I want to illustrate this with an example, so you can see the effect this has on your strategy and your life.

On my weekend walk,  I was lucky to spot a butterfly and I was able to observe the following:

When the butterfly had its wings closed, it was practically invisible and there was nothing special about it.

But when it had its wings open it was spectacular, really perfect.

It made me think: Does the same thing happen to us?

When we are afraid, it is as if our wings are closed and we are totally invisible.

But when we do things despite fear, we shine.

Not only I am speaking from my own experience but I have had the opportunity to meet hundreds of people who every day feel paralyzed by fear.

Fear is the main reason why entrepreneurs like you do not create content to promote their business.

Fear is the main reason why you do not move forward and your business does not take off

The worst of all is that sometimes all you need is a change of perspective, just another way of seeing things in order to free yourself from anxiety and simply jump.

And that’s exactly what we’re going to do in this post with the fear of creating content.

Before I start, I want to clarify that I am speaking from my own experience.

I am a shy person and I usually prefer to remain quiet if I have nothing important to say.

And writing so the entire world can read my content is not something that comes easy to me.

What’s amazing is that in order to do it, all I had to do was change my perspective and my way of thinking.

In other words, I flipped the switch

I want to show you another way to think about your content to help you leave fear behind and inspire you to take the first step.

How to get over the fear of promoting your services online (3 Powerful ways to overcome fear once and for all)

1. It’s not about you

The moment you discover this, everything changes.

This is a mistake people make without realizing it, possibly at this very moment you are saying to yourself, I don’t have that problem.

So just to clear out any doubt, I have included 3 examples with different situations.

If you identify with at least one of these situations, then you suffer from this condition.

I. Do you often worry about what people think when they see your content?

Generally speaking, this is no small worry. Sometimes it’s so big that it looks like a mountain and it does not allow you to see what you have in front of you.

II. Who am I to be talking about this topic?

Well, if there are people that are recognized experts in this topic, then who do I think I am to do this? How am I going to talk about this topic? It seems similar to what I explained before (1), but the difference is that not only do we care about what others will say but now we add the worry of not being the best.

And you may not be the best, but that does not mean you do not have the power and ability to help thousands of people, just as I do every day.

What is true is that by not sharing what you know, you stop yourself from making the impact you know you can make.

III. Why is someone going to read what I have to say?

The solution is to move the attention from yourself to your audience. If you are creating content to help your audience, they will listen.

2. Perfection does not exist

The idea of writing perfect content only exists in your mind.

Remember that the content you write is for your audience and the only way to make your content better is with the feedback of the people who read the content.

It’s impossible to improve the content if it only lives in your head.

One of the purposes of online content is to connect with your audience. This can only be achieved by developing the discipline of publishing content regularly.

Publishing content regularly means that not all content can be equally good every single day and the sooner you understand this, the better.

In other words, part of the process when creating irresistible content is to create content that is not so good. This is how the process works!

Before continuing I have created an infographic that illustrates: How to get over the fear of promoting your services online (3 Powerful ways to overcome fear once and for all)

3. The world needs your help and your talents

If you know that you offer excellent service that people need, you are being selfish by not creating content for your audience. Simply because you are afraid to be judged.

There are many people who do not know you and who have the problem that only you know how to solve.
To create content you do not have to be the best in your industry, you just have to be able to solve the problem.

If you’re not able to attract them to your services, your competitors will do it again and again, regardless of whether they are really good at solving the problem or not.

Conclusion
Fear is behind every decision you do not make, behind every project you decide not to do, behind every lesson you don’t learn.

Fear is the obstacle that crosses your path and does not allow you to reach your destination.

Fear is the voice that tells you that you are not good at writing.

That people are not going to like what you have to say, that you are going to make a mistake again, that you’re wasting your time and money, that you are really not good in this type of marketing and that you should not try to learn.

Changing perspective allows you to stop listening to that voice.

What can you do today to stop listening to that voice, change your perspective and move despite the fear?

How to create content your audience will love

Maybe more than once you have felt like you are missing something and like there are secret ingredients that you missing because you really do not know how to create content that your customers want.

The feeling is similar to when you leave home without your phone and you know that you forgot something, but you are not sure what it is.

Do you feel that something similar is happening with your content?

You know that you are good at what you do but you feel desperate because you have no idea what to do to sell your services online and attract customers to your business.

You understand that you need to learn to learn how to use words to communicate your message so you can attract customers but you feel a bit stuck and frustrated.

Even though you feel like writing is not the problem, you feel like your content does not stand out, it does not spark curiosity in your reader and definitely does not move them to buy.

How to create quality content your audience will love: 3 secret ingredients

1. Practice

The truth is that creating content that your customers want is an art and a science. And it’s not something for which we receive training.

However, it is something you need to learn if you do not want to stay behind or put your business at risk just because people can’t find you online.

It’s not only a problem of keeping up with technology, it’s a lot more than that.

It’s about learning how to use technology to grow your business.

Nowadays one of the keys to getting ahead is to know how to take advantage of the times in which we live, not only do we need to keep up with technology, but we also need to know how to take
advantage of it.

It’s key to learn how to communicate your message in such a way that it can be seen and understood by your audience and also generate enough curiosity so that your audience is
interested in your services.

The first step is to learn to learn how to use words to communicate your message, and the only thing that will allow you to achieve your goals is practice.

Only practice will help you get the words or phrases that will attract your ideal customer like a magnet

2. Patience

I could tell you that the process super easy, so easy that almost it does not require effort. But maybe that’s not the best way to describe the process.

In my opinion, the process is not complicated but it simply requires patience and perseverance.

It’s a bit like training to run a marathon. If you do not train and run every day the race will be uphill, but if you train every day, you will not have any problem finishing the marathon.

Before continuing I have created an infographic that illustrates: How to create quality content your audience will love: 3 secret ingredients

How to create content your audience will love

3. Invisible sale: Sell without selling

Isn’t this what we all want? And this is the part that is more an art than a science and that varies for everyone.

The key is to really know your audience, you need to know exactly who they are, what problem they have and how they feel and how it affects them, and of course how to offer them the best solution.

Once again, it’s not only important to understand this, but you also need to be able to describe it to them using their words as if you knew what they are thinking and you could read their mind.
And this is achieved with practice and patience, only by doing the work again and again.

Conclusion
Nowadays it is not enough to be good at what you do, it is not enough to be a good nutrition coach, an excellent therapist, a visionary architect, or the best chef to name a few examples.

The reality is that none of this matters if your audience does not who you are or even worse they don’t know you exist.

You and your business will be left behind if you do not learn how to attract customers to your service. How to create content your audience will love

How to create content that people want to read (and share)

How to create content that people want to read

If you are like many entrepreneurs, you often have the following persistent thought that keeps you awake at night: if only I could get a few more clients each month, week or day. At times you are not even sure if learning how to create content that people want to read (and share) is even the answer.

I get it.

But just because you think people do not want to read, does not mean you should not create content for your audience.

A few weeks ago I was taking my daughter to her summer camp. The camp is located inside a university.

It was a morning like any other, but my daughter noticed that at the entrance there was a sign that welcomed the new students and immediately she explained that it was a good thing, because it meant that there would be good food in the cafeteria.

The truth, it made me smile and made me think about how sometimes messages can be interpreted in so many ways especially when we are familiar with certain experiences.

And in a way, that is exactly what happened to me recently talking with a friend about how to improve the traffic of their website.

Maybe because I’ve had these conversations hundreds of times with clients and friends, I had a similar feeling to my daughter’s, about the direction where the conversation was going.

But this time the experience was not making me smile

What made me get the feeling was the concern my friend was expressing about how the website should look and what the texts should be like.

But I almost stopped breathing when he finished his sentence telling me that the reason why all these changes had to be done was that when people go to his website they do not want to read.

Most business owners do not realize that what keeps them stuck is that they try to solve the traffic problem by redesigning the website

And that’s how, once again, I found myself having exactly the same conversation.

This issue is critical and can prevent so many mistakes that I thought it was important to delve into it.

Most business owners do not realize that they leave tons of money on the table because they keep busy doing activities that are easier (or familiar) such as designing and redesigning the website, creating visual content and videos for social networks.

It is easy to fall into the trap because everyone thinks that people do not want to read and that is precisely where the problem lies. Most experts say that money is in social networks and that people do not want to read.

How to create content that people want to read (and share): 3 reasons why you should balance written content with visual content

1. All successful businesses are on Google

If the only thing that will really work is the visual content and the videos and the written content was really not important, do you think that then Google would exist?

If you are failing to create written content because you think that people do not want to read, you are limiting your growth.

And you’re also leaving the way open to your competitors.

If everyone really thought that way and agreed that people do not want to read.

The competition to position your written content would be less.

When you stop writing written content you are not only leaving the way open to your competitors but you are also driving your business to failure and I want you to think a bit about that.

2. Visual content works best when combined with words

The visual content allows us to talk to the emotional part of your audience and the words allow us to speak to the intellect.

Additionally, we use texts to position images and videos, because images and videos are not understood by any algorithm. Algorithms do not understand the visual component of an image.

We use longer texts in Google and social networks so that people spend more time in our posts and the algorithm thinks that the post is valuable and relevant and that in turn makes the algorithm decide to show the post to more people.

Before continuing with step 3, I want to share an infographic that illustrates: How to create content that people want to read (and share):

3. A strategy without traffic is destined to fail

To have traffic, you need to think about how people are going to find you.

Remember that it does not matter the aesthetics of your website or how the texts on your website look if nobody finds you and do not know you exist.

What every successful entrepreneur understands is that written content is what makes people find you.

The text and the way you communicate your message is the only thing that makes people find you on google and on any other platform.

Conclusion
People search Google because they are looking for answers to their questions and spend time on social media because they are consuming content.
So thinking that you do not need to learn how to create content that people want to read (and share) because people do not want to read is a bit like hiding in a cave and turning off the light so that no one else ever finds you.

how to get your online strategy to work

It is incredible that we are starting the second quarter of the year.

I have had many learning opportunities and I cannot wait to share them.

Perhaps the biggest lesson is the importance of planning the quarter in advance.

The reality is that I did not reach all the goals, but I definitely took action in all the activities I had planned, which has left me feeling very satisfied with my work and with a tray full of lessons.

I have had the opportunity to go deep into the subject of how we set our goals and what we do to carry them out and I think the biggest obstacle we all stumble upon is the lack of time.

At least that is something we can all agree on.

Although we all agree, this does not mean that this is our real problem

A few days ago I was talking with a friend who shared the following idea with me:

“I spend most of my time doing design work and day-to-day activities of my business and this leaves me with very little time to spend in marketing, I honestly believe that I do not have a clear strategy to reach my potential customers.”

And I could not agree more

The difficulty of the matter is that sometimes what we think the time is the problem and in reality, it is not

And we need to be able to go a little further to unmask the problem.

I am starting to think that our real problem, always hides behind the lack of time.

The reason why we feel we are missing hours in the day is that every day we are doing things that are completely unnecessary.

If we stopped doing these things, they would have no impact on our results.

And if we were aware of the problem we would not have problems with not having enough hours in the day.

In no way, I consider myself an expert on this subject, but these are some of the actions that have worked for me.

How to get your online strategy to work (3 steps to start today)

1. Stop the clock

Although it may seem counterproductive, the first thing you need to do is stop doing everything you are doing and take the time to reevaluate and reconsider the list of things you need to do.

Although it seems that stopping, will make you lose more time, this has the opposite effect because if you do it right, it allows you to identify areas that you can improve and tasks that you can eliminate.

2. Set clear and measurable objectives

Perhaps this of the clear objectives, it seems obvious to you, but I have also noticed that we do not always set the objectives well.
The reason I say this is because you must have a clear way to measure your goals. If you cannot measure your goals objectively, this is an excellent time to rethink them.

Before continuing with step 3, I want to share an infographic that illustrates: How to get your online strategy to work:

3. Put things into context

On many occasions, we feel that our projects fail because we do not achieve the desired results.

And although it is true that the results are not there, it is also possible that you are one step away from achieving them.

But by giving up a step just a step before making your dreams come true, it’s impossible for you to really succeed in your project.

That is why it is so important to realize that sometimes we make mistakes estimating the time in which we want to see those results.

So I want to ask you, do you have a plan for the next 3 months?

Because the road is definitely complicated if you don’t start with a plan.

How to overcome the fear of learning online marketing (3 steps to get started)

how to overcome the fear of learning online marketing

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to talk with a friend who has been considering enrolling in a course for more than a year.

Personally, I think that is one of the worst mistakes you can make.

Especially if we take into account that the course he wasconsidering to take lasts 8 weeks.

The only way to know if something is going to help you or not is to do it

The truth is that my friend will never be totally sure if the course will help him unless he enrolls in it.

In my opinion, it all depends on the effort that you invest and how commited you are to your success.

The issue is that not learning or not giving yourself the chance to have the experience of the course is much worse than the possibility that the course does not meet your expectations.

But even worse, is living through a whole year with the question of whether to take the course or not.

In case you didn’t know, I really enjoy teaching others

I discovered this a bit by accident almost 18 years ago, when I started teaching children and adults how to use computers and the Internet.

I have had the opportunity to teach 3 generations and the lessons I have learned are huge.

Although it is hard to believe, 18 years ago, these people already felt that they were falling behind with technology and wanted to learn.

The age differences went from one extreme to the other.

Some were more afraid than others.

The important thing is that despite their fear, they made the decision to seek help and learn.

I myself have had similar experiences inside and outside of work.

What I have learned is how important it is to ask for help when we have the feeling that something is preventing us from moving forward.

What’s important is to understand that the faster we do something about it, the faster you will overcome the obstacle.

Of course, we will never know for sure if anything is worthwhile until we do it.

How to overcome the fear of learning online marketing (3 steps to get you started)

So, what should you do?

1. Ask for Help

One of the worst decisions you can make is to try to do it alone.

The most important thing is to find a simple way to learn with which you feel comfortable. You achieve this by enrolling in a course or hiring someone who already has done what you want to do.

2. Clear vision of your goals

Clarify what your goals are, what is it that you need to do and more importantly how are going to measure your results.

18 years ago, each of my students had totally different goals.

They were not always totally clear on how to achieve them.

Part of my work at that time was to show them in practical and easy to understand way how they could learn to use the Internet and the computer to achieve their goals.

Before continuing with step 3, I want to share an infographic that illustrates: How to overcome the of fear of learning online marketing (3 steps to start today).

How to overcome the fear of learning online marketing

3. Replace fear with action

I know this is easier said than done.

The longer you let fear inside you, the more it grows and the more it paralyzes you.

That’s why it’s so important to take baby steps that let you get closer to your goals.

The more steps you take, the more progress you will make and it will allow you to leave fear behind.

Conclusion
Remember everything is relative, 18 years ago, my students felt that they could not keep up with new technology.

I am sure that today, there are people that feel the same way.

And in 5 years, there will still be people who will be overwhelmed by new technology.

The key is to understand that it’s never too late to learn.

The quicker you make the decision, the quicker you overcome the fear.

What’s important is that you don’t spend the next 5 years feeling that you can’t keep up with technology 🙂
